This was directed to people who were current. If you are from India, China, Mexico, Philippines, get used to waiting. Your backlog is due to numerical limits. And this won't change (the way I see it)

Hmm... so whats stopping you from making 80-100 an hour on contracting now? do you have EAD?
It is not a big deal dude...if not for this immigration system, we could be making even more..think about $80-$100/hr if you are an independent contractor. This a minimum for a decent contract with vendor directly.
And if you have ~100-200K for investments, with some experience and any luck..you could be making another 100K out of it from trading and active investing in other areas. That comes to ~250-300K minimum. There are no bounds when life is free and in this great country. Unfortunately, things have turned discriminative and our potentials are being restricted(atleast for non-EAD guys) and you have to be prepared for getting outright kicked out of this country.

Mass porting to EB2 category is the only option. I think most people with old EB3 PD can easily do it. I was reluctant initially but since there is no light at the end of the tunnel, why not take a chance while PD porting is still available. Dont get discouraged by people advising against it, since there is no hope for EB3 anyways.

I read in one of the Ron's post -CHc trying to stop even small immigration bills which has no amesty in it.So even the nurse recapture bill is at stake.
So ,I'm sorry -I beleive no one will even touch our case.Apply in EB2 port PD or get new PD either will be helpful .But seeing new backlog for I 140 its terrible.
I might apply for Canadian GC-Having kids here ,man they are adapted to this country living.That's the only thing bothering - kids future.
So this bill this year is at stake for sure.No one cares ...including change-what change there woudnt be any change in new party too.Its all drama going.I lost the trust.Its as if EB3 is not educated.
I'm just wondering-Will this problem be there if it were for ROW-or is it our color...that they dont want to aid.It's sure racism.

Thank you very much for your reply. It gave me a mental peace. Do anyone believe if I go to the local office on next tuesday they will do something for me ?
i don't think going to local office is going to help. be patient you should get it. In my case it took almost 4 weeks since it got approved to physically receive AP. Although I don't know how long my lawyer held it prior to mailing it to me.

Here is how I came up with that analysis. Last year they made changes to give GC for those stuck in FBI name check if they passed 180 days. So most of the ROW got their GC last year. There were not many labors approved from 2008. So there is no demand from EB2 ROW this year. With the economy going down, not many would get EB1s either. I don't anticipate many EB5s either this year. So major chunk of EB visas will need to come to EB2I/C. Will CIS do that or not is a different story.

SriKondoji & I both being from the NE area we communicated through this thread possibility of car polling for DC and I received a call from him last thursday(Aug 9th) regarding this from some Ohio area code. So buddyinus I can at least assure you he was travelling at that time.

He mislead ppl on the other thread and ppl started booing him. But he was goin on and on and on...I just realised he was the one to start this thread too...Its already 6 days since Monday and this thread is still alive. Doz he even have any decency to acknowledge his mistakes. Admins...When somebody reads something like "June end and July 2nd filers receipts by monday" on ur homepage they get excited. Bottom line is, its misleading. The "Monday" is already gone and nobody knows when USCIS will process July 2nd receipts. Pls delete this thread. SriKondoji is notorious for spreading false rumours.

The way DOS/USCIS behaved last couple weeks anything is possilbe - now its very easy to spin news. If someone comes here and says USCIS will not accept any applications for next two years - many of us might think "logically" and suspect the news - but last week proved that logic and USCIS/DOS dont go together.
Anything is possible with is freaking idiotic dumbass orgnanization. Now I can feel a bit better - at least for next 30 mts. :)

I watched the video and One of the things I noticed was the difficulty the State dept is facing to keep the numbers within limitation so they tend to achieve 90%-95% because the legislative limitation doesn't allow them to go beyond even by few numbers
When i compare the same situation with that of an IPO of a company. Typically a company coming out with an IPO will have certain number of shares authorized to sell, In addition to that they also reserve certain small number in addition to these to accommodate any excess shares issued by the underwriters.
Why don't we have some numbers similar to that. This would make the life of the State dept much easier.

We're much better off here in the US when you compare our compatriots suffering in Britain. Britain has enforced a lot more regulations on immigrants, much to their chagrin.

I live in colorado...my H1B is going to expire Oct 27...I have not applied for H1B Extn. yet...But i have EAD...According to colorado DMV i should be able to use EAD for driving license extn...but does using EAD invalidates my H1B??...i am planning to apply for my H1B extn this week...but i won't be able to get approval in 3 weeks (assuming i do premium processing)...Please help me.
Presenting your EAD to DMV for verification does not invalidate your H1B status. Only when you present it to your employer and if he fills out form I-9 and if USCIS requests verification of employment then you will need to worry about that.
